Hello again friends. How have things been? How's the family? How is the job?
Things have been interesting around here, and quite busy despite the turbulent economic times. So busy, in fact, that there have been 4 months of no updates. We profusely apologize. Coulter is still alive and well. Let us give you a short run down of the past four months.

So, after our album, uh, dropped, it has been picking up steam despite rampant neglect. We told our record company that we wanted to let Displacement quietly sneak its way into the open without press or publicity; at least for the time being. The reason being: we wanted to hype it up when we had enough time to completely devote ourselves to playing the material from Displacement in a live setting.

What would divert our attention, you ask?

Well, first and foremost, Aleks and Mike are recording an album for their side-project 'Serica Ux'. There are alot of things at stake with Serica, and both Aleks and Mike felt it was important to exorcise the(ir) demons before they could even think of playing the material from Displacement. Serica Ux's album will be out in early Fall, and A+M plan on playing live shows for it. They are presently playing small clubs in the Tri-State area.

Secondly, work is getting in the way (just a 'lil.) Mike has been producing, recording, and mixing some very exciting acts coming out of NY, some of which include Coyote Eyes, Locket, Inna Beynishes, ASD, The Shovel (to name a few). These projects have been keeping him somewhat occupied. Aleks has been lending his drumming talents out to a Philadelphia band Gringo Motel. The guys in Gringo are very dear friends to Coulter (in addition to being wickedly talented musicians), and Aleks couldn't pass up the opportunity to sit in as their drummer in their time of need.

So we can assure you that Coulter is still alive and well. We are just in strategic hibernation. We thank all of you who have supported us and Displacement. We can't believe that the album is actually selling. It is through your kind word of mouth and persistence that is it even permeating different circles not only in the NY area, but across the world too. Can't believe the bandwidth being taken up from such places as the UK, Spain, Ireland, various countries in South America and various eastern European countries. The iTunes sales have been unbelievable as well. We told only our closest fans, friends and associates about the release--so the fact that we are getting money several months after the drop is astounding.
There are other interesting things to come from us. In addition to our promise to promote and tour on Displacement, we also are going to have various people take a spin at making videos for our songs. Our good friend Nathania Rubin (who has worked with Cindy Sherman and various other amazing visual artists) is making a video for 'You Are Not Psychic" as we speak. We are truly excited to see what she comes up with.

So in closing, we humbly thank you, as always, for your patience and support. Enjoy the dog days of summer. The midsummer classic is almost upon us, and we're thinking it's going to be the American League this year.
Be safe out there.

For reasons that will become clear when LP2 is released, we have become increasingly interested in the freedom of internet. We have been exercising our right to freedom of expression on this marvelous invention known as the 'Internet' for some time now, and we would really hate to see this freedom disolve.

Presently going nuts with work. AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! Busy busy here. The album is being tinkered at slowly and painstakingly. Not to worry. It will be done soon.

As for the I Choose Death single, we are still waiting on its progress. It is currently being pressed in San Fran CA and will be back (hopefully) before Christmas. Sorry to all of you who wanted a pressed copy in time for December 25. Santa won't have it for you by then. But maybe, just maybe, Santa will come twice this year...

Live shows to happen in the new year. Be excited.

Also, we promise to update the site a little more often. Pull our head out of the musical sand of pro-tools to do the update-y things here and there.

Welcome! You have arrived at COULTERBAND.COM! We have spruced up the place a little. We streamlined a few things. We put a kettle on for some tea and arranged some nice little cakes and sandwhiches for you to snack on. Please be patient with the mess. We are still moving and and unpacking our boxes, so you can expect some things to be out of order here and there. Your patience is, as always, appreciated. Please drop us a line to report broken links, files that won't download, and cheating spouses.

A few notes:

The I Choose Death EP will be available for purchase soon...if you feel like purchasing it. Art work is still being rendered, and the CDs are being pressed as we speak. You can, however, download the songs from this site at no cost to you. FREE.

The merchandise page is still being tinkered with. Be patient. We know you want to blow some money on this site, so we are working as fast as we can.

LP2 entitled Displacement is still slated for a winter 2008 release. We will keep you posted.

Meanwhile, take off your shoes and relax a little bit. Have a peek around. As usual, from here on out, you will fend for yourself...etc etc.
